Mt. Seymour’s Shred for the Cause fundraiser to support Women’s Shelters

January 20, 2017  – The Bloom Group is delighted to announce that we are partnering again with Mt Seymour for their annual “Shred for the Cause” fundraiser!

Vancouver’s largest ski and snowboard charity fundraiser, Shred for the Cause runs from January 22 to March 26, 2018. Last year $26,000 was raised to support programs for youths and Indigenous women provided by it’s Women’s Shelters: Powell Place and Springhouse.

“We really appreciate the community’s support of essential programs for vulnerable and marginalized women and their families,” said Lanna Many Grey Horses, Manager of Women and Children Services. “Every donation made a huge difference in so many lives and we’re glad to participate in this great event again and share those stories.”

Women can ski or ride from 5:30pm-10pm, Monday evenings, for $15, with 50% of the lift ticket price going directly to The Bloom Group. Men’s lift tickets are $33 and additional donations can be made.

Eddie Wood, General Manager of Mt Seymour commented, “As a local family owned and operated ski resort it is important to us to be able to give back within our community to an organization such as The Bloom Group. Shred for the Cause is a fun way to support a great local cause.”

An après session will take place every Monday at 9pm in the Rockchute Bar & Grill with prizes and giveaways from our sponsors Rip Curl, Thirty Two, Dragon Alliance, Sandbox, Helly Hansen, Dakine, Comor Sports and Pacific Boarder.


6pm – 10pm: Every Monday from January 22 – March 26
Women pay $10 (or if they wish, more) at Guest Services on arrival
7pm – 9pm: Guests can join the Women’s Park Jam hosted by Rip Curl in the Young Guns Terrain Park. There will be prizes from Rip Curl and music from DJ Marie Kosmik.
9pm: Apres Ski in the Three Peak Lodge with weekly door prizes.
