Jonathan Oldman

Executive Director

Jonathan has worked and volunteered in public healthcare and not-for-profit leadership roles for over 20 years in both Canada and the UK. His work has focused largely on developing community-based solutions to a variety of complex social issues, including mental illness, homelessness, and poverty. Before joining The Bloom Group in 2008, Jonathan was Executive Director of the Vancouver branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Trudi Shymka

Associate Executive Director

Trudi has worked with homeless women and children in the Downtown Eastside for over 20 years, expanding women-only shelters and developing low-barrier services that provide support and opportunity for women to build on their strengths toward a better life. Trudi is a member of the Downtown Eastside Coalition of Women Serving Agencies, Greater Vancouver Shelter Strategy, Shelter Net BC Board and Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House Board.


Jim Walker

Director of Finance and Corporate Services

Jim is a designated accountant with his CPA,CMA designation and brings over 15 years of finance and business experience to The Bloom Group. He has held senior roles at PepsiCo, Rocky Mountaineer, and Choices Markets and served on volunteer boards for Harvest House, Vancouver Society of Children Centres, and The Children of the Street Society where he is currently Treasurer.
