Liz Barnett

Executive Director

Elizabeth (Liz) Barnett brings over thirty years of progressively senior experience in the Not-for-Profit sector, most recently serving as Executive Director of the North Shore Disability Resource Centre (NSDRC), with an employee base of more than two hundred employees. Liz increased NSDRC’s revenues significantly during her tenure, while maintaining accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Liz’s experience includes sitting on several Provincial Committees, and she holds a Non-Profit Management Certificate from Vancouver Community College.

Trudi Shymka

Associate Executive Director

Trudi has worked with homeless women and children in the Downtown Eastside for over 20 years, expanding women-only shelters and developing low-barrier services that provide support and opportunity for women to build on their strengths toward a better life. Trudi is a member of the Downtown Eastside Coalition of Women Serving Agencies, Greater Vancouver Shelter Strategy, Shelter Net BC Board and Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House Board.


Andrea Leong

Director of Finance

Andrea is an experienced finance leader with over 20 years in accounting, financial analysis and strategic business planning in the private, government and health care sectors. She is a professional accountant (CPA, CGA) with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lakehead University, and a Financial Management Diploma from BCIT. Her passion is for the transformation of financial and clinical data integration to support access to care.

Graham Wood

Director of Real Estate

With a career in the real estate industry for both private and public sectors, Graham Wood brings a broad experience in the industry to The Bloom Group. His passion lies not only in property development and economic analysis, but also in the opportunity to bring innovative and collaborative approaches to create better outcomes for marginalized populations. Graham is a professional member of the Real Estate Institute of BC and the Urban Land Institute and holds a BA from Simon Fraser University, a Diploma in Urban Land Economics (Real Estate Development) from University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Victoria.

Cindy Graves

Development and Communications

Cindy has held senior leadership roles in the not-for-profit sectors for more than 15 years. A strategic thinker strong on execution, she has successfully raised millions of dollars and led the fund development and communications for grassroots agencies and large national and international organizations like the Canadian Red Cross and Simon Fraser University. She is the Founding Executive Director of Kids Up Front Foundation (Vancouver) where she is most proud of turning the start-up organization into an integral part of the social fabric of Vancouver and helping improve the lives of thousands of kids and families. A passionate storyteller, she is thrilled to join The Bloom Group and share many incredible stories of resilience and hope.
