JOB SUMMARY
Working with initiative and independence, the incumbent will be a Red Seal Journeyman Plumber, responsible for performing a variety of skilled labor, with extensive knowledge in building plumbing systems, and the related plumbing issues that occur, this position will also include implementing preventive maintenance plans for all Bloom Group programs and sites. The incumbent will troubleshoot and repair issues in house when possible, or manage contracted vendors on larger jobs when needed, support and train building service workers, with basic plumbing and other building maintenance tasks. This position will work closely with the Maintenance Coordinator and Procurement Coordinator to achieve these goals, and other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Five years related experience.
- Red Seal Journeyman Plumbing Certificate
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Must Obtain a Clean Criminal Background Check.
- Have or complete, Occupational Level 1 First Aid Certificate.
- Have or Complete, Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Training
ABILITIES/SKILLS:

- Physical capabilities to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot, plan, organize and prioritize.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
- Working knowledge of Asbestos Management plan and procedures to minimize the Risk of worker exposure when asbestos containing material disturbance occurs.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, Word, and Excel.
- General knowledge of applicable department policies, procedures, and standards.
- Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment, as necessary.
- Strong consensus building and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work with diverse client base (youth, seniors, adults, and special populations) and with people who may have experienced abuse, poverty, grief and loss, oppression, violence, mental health challenges, and/or addiction issues, and/or those who may be living with HIV/AIDS or other life-threatening conditions.
