The health and safety of our clients, patients, residents and staff is always a top priority for The Bloom Group Community Services. As a provider of essential services, The Bloom Group will continue to work closely with local health authorities to coordinate a response to the COVID-19 pandemic to meet the rapidly changing response measures during this extraordinary time and ensure the health and safety of all stakeholders.
Our programs have stepped up our hygiene practices and are following standard contagious illnesses protocols and best practices as advised by Vancouver Health Authority.
At this point, there are no known cases of COVID-19 in clients or staff and, unless otherwise notified, our programs are running as scheduled.
Thank you!
The Bloom Group would like to offer our deepest gratitude to our health care workers and other service providers who are working tirelessly to protect the lives of the vulnerable during these difficult days.
Staff Precautions:
For everyone’s safety, staff should not report to work if they are facing one or more of the following:
- They are experiencing symptoms: fever, dry cough, difficulty breathing, runny nose, sore throat.
- They have been in contact with someone with an identified case of COVID-19.
- They have worked in a site with a known outbreak.
- They have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days.
- They have been in direct contact with someone who is showing symptoms or recently travelled to a high-risk location.
Client/Resident/Patient Precautions:
Clients, residents and patients who are experiencing symptoms, or been exposed as per the above, are asked to call 811 and follow the instructions provided there. They are also asked to inform the program manager.
If you are concerned that you have a pre-existing health concern that places you at higher risk for complications from exposure to COVID-19, please call 811 and contact the program manager to discuss.
Please contact us immediately if you have been at one of The Bloom Group’s sites recently and are now diagnosed with COVID-19. Please reach out to the program you attended or call our reception at 604-606-0301.
Central Office Access:
In order to ensure continuation of critical business operations we are asking that staff limit their visits to central office. This will help to reduce the risk of transmission. Please access central supports via email or phone.
Prevention:
Please remember that the most effective way to combat transmission is thorough and frequent handwashing, surface cleaning, and physical distancing.
Information Sources:
There is a lot of information being shared on social media, but we encourage our clients and the public to rely on credible sources for information and updates such as Vancouver Coastal Health, BC Housing, Canadian Centre for Disease Control, Health Link BC, and the Health Canada website.
Going Forward:
If anything changes with our services, we will reach out directly to clients where possible and share on our website and social media. We recognize we are an essential service and are committed to being there for our clients. In the event of a more serious outbreak, we will carefully consider ways to continue to provide limited services.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the program you attend or call us at 604-606-0301 and our reception staff will connect you to the most relevant person. If you have personal medical questions, please contact your doctor or call 811 to speak to a health service navigator.
